Nika Island Resort
The Nika Island Resort is situated on he island of Kudafolhudhoo north of the atoll of Ari. This resort offers one of the last chances to have privacy and quality in the Maldives. Steeped in pristine and lush vegetation and overlooked by a majestic century-old Ficus Bengalensis (which the Maldivian call Nika), the resort comprises 26 wonderful bungalows (divided into Sangu bungalows and Muraka bungalows) and 1 Sultan suite. The islands enjoys the ‘Nika Time’, which is two hours ahead of the capital Male and therefore allows our guests to make the most of their stay and of solar hours. The permanent staff speak Italian, English, German, French and Spanish.
All bungalows have their own private beach, overlook the sea and are secluded in lush vegetation.
Muraka Bungalows - 70 sq. m.:
They offer air conditioning in the bedrooms with windows overlooking the sea, CD player, mini bar, kettle, safe, hot/cold shower, bathrobes, beach towels, hairdyer, armchair, telephone and parquet floor in the bedroom.
Sultan Suite - 120 sq. m.:
The suite offers the largest private beach of the island and two adjoining apartments comprising large lounge (with the possibility of a 5th bed), two bedrooms and two independent bathrooms. Inside the suites offer ceiling fans, mini bar, kettle, safe, hot/cold shower, bathrobes, beach towels, hairdryer, armchair, telephone and parquet floor in the bedroom.
Restaurant:
Buffet for breakfast and lunch, no-limits à la carte menu for dinner, or vice versa. The island’s chefs can satisfy any request: salads, fish carpaccio with fresh rocket, pizza, Italian pasta, various fish dishes, vegetable side dishes and espresso coffee. The cellar is stocked up with over 70 types of Italian wine. Once a week Maldivian buffets and barbecues are prepared.
Coffee-Shop:
The coffee-shop is a meeting point where you can enjoy special cocktails and socialise with the other guests (if you wish) and is the ideal place to admire the wonderful Maldivian sunsets. Guests can use game tables, toys and games - also for older children - a library as well as a TV corner to watch satellite Rai and CNN, which broadcast all Italian and international sports events.
Assistenza Medica:
On the island medical care is guaranteed by the presence of highly qualified Italian doctors.
Centro Ayurvedico:
Why not revitalise and relax body and mind at the island’s Ayurvedic centre? The word Ayurveda means ‘life science’; Vata, Pitta, Kapha are in fact the three fundamental energies which keep man alive and which must always be in harmony. A massage with natural oils and herbs, detoxifies and purifies the body and removes the toxins blocking up the energy channels.
Free-of-charge sport and leisure activities:
Volley ball, Bowls, Badminton, Canoeing, Tennis on synthetic grass with night floodlight, board games and satellite TV.
Sports at a charge:
Water ski, Snorkelling equipment hire, Excursions, Picnics, Trolling, Big game fishing or other types of fishing and Windsurfing.
Diving Centre:
The highly qualified instructors can speak Italian, English and German and guarantee a personalised service and a limited number of participants per dive. Among the interesting guided dives organised are the manta ray pass, the shipwreck, the sharks pit, etc… The diving centre issues Padi licences or other types of specialised licenses, such as Rescue Diver and Dive Master.
Weddings:
All couples can request this ceremony, which is celebrated by the island’s Director. The cost includes hire of clothes, candlelit dinner on the bungalow’s beach with private waiter, wedding cake with champagne and breakfast in bed and Ayurvedic massage the following morning. Also included in the price are half a day on a deserted island, a gift and a wedding certificate.
