Kuda Huraa - Four Seasons Resort

The island of Kuda Huraa is in the atoll of Malé Nord, 25 minutes by boat and 20 km from the international airport of Malé (on the island of Hulhule).

The Four Seasons Resort Maldives at Kuda Huraa,  has been totally renovated and was re-opened in September  2006.  Set like a Maldivian village in a vibrant garden-island and enjoying the legendary Four Seasons service, this resort comprises 96 luxury bungalows where wood and straw have been combined with elegant tropical furnishing and modern comforts. The splendid Beach Bungalows have been built along the beach, whereas the Water Bungalows, have been built on sturdy stilts in the calm lagoon and offer 360 degrees sea views.

The Beach Pavilions (25 units: 45-square-metre indoor space, 62-square-metre outdoor space) are the largest and comprise a bedroom with bathroom and a patio with Maldivian outdoor shower, protected by a wall and by the tropical garden. While having direct access to the beach, the Beach Pavilions are slightly set back and ensure maximum privacy; some feature communicating gates and are ideal for families. 

Only a few steps from the beach, the new Beach Bungalows with pool (32 units: 63-square-metre indoor space, 82-square-metre outdoor space) overlook a large outdoor area with a small ‘infinity edge’ pool and gazebo. Privacy is guaranteed by the lush vegetation, synonymous of beauty and comfort.

The brand new Royal Beach Villa  (1 unit: 197-square-metre indoor space, 256 square-metre outdoor space) features two bedrooms overlooking a spacious living room. Each bedroom has its own dressing room and a spacious patio with outdoor shower. As well as the large garden with terrace and solarium, there is the ‘infinity edge’ pool and the gazebo. The Villa also has its own private beach with terrace and gazebo overlooking the sea, which are ideal to enjoy breakfast or an aperitif at sunset. Rising from crystal-clear waters, the Water Bungalows (32 units: 61-square-metre indoor space, 39-square-metre outdoor space) have been redesigned and feature a large bathroom overlooking the lagoon and a patio with Maldivian outdoor shower. Each bungalow has a solarium terrace with steps leading down to the blue waters of the lagoon and to the platform equipped with fresh water shower.

Navaranna Water Bungalows (4 units: 91-square-metre indoor space, 55-square-metre outdoor space). These luxury bungalows offer large outdoor spaces with elegant, totally renewed indoor spaces and wide French doors for a breathtaking view. As well as the bedroom and bathroom with patio and outdoor shower, the bungalows feature a living room with sofa-bed and small bathroom with shower to offer extra space fro families.

Two-bedroom Water Bungalows (2 units: 173-square-metre indoor space, 99-square-metre outdoor space). The Water Bungalows have been completely renovated inside and feature a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with their own dressing room, bathroom and patio with outdoor shower. The living room and the dining area overlook a large sun terrace, from which one can access the lower platform to dive in the sea or to have a shower. These bungalows are situated around the coral islet and offer absolute privacy and an ideal starting point for snorkelling.

All bungalows offer fast internet access, digital telephone lines, 32” or 42” plasma TV, DVD reader. The bathroom includes soft ultra absorbent towels, large mirror for make-up and shaving, hairdryer, pure cotton bathrobe and slippers and high quality bathroom products. Valuables can be kept in the bedroom safe. Fresh pure cotton sheets, air conditioning, ceiling fans and a well supplied mini bar all contribute to offer the best comfort in each bungalow.

DINING: The Resort offers six different possibilities, including dining in your own bungalow. The brand new Café Huraa restaurant comprises two pavilions overlooking the pool and the lagoon. It offers à la carte menu and, at dinnertime, dishes of Asian cuisine, particularly Thai and Chinese specialties, are served. Theme evenings also offer tempting delicacies. The restaurant has a well-stocked cellar with a selection of some of the best wines in the world. With its terrace stretching 25 metres into the lagoon, the Baraabaru restaurant has an amazing design and offers its guests the best North Indian cuisine combined with the unique culinary experience of eating on the water. For special occasions the restaurant also offers a private pavilion. The interior design is reminiscent of the tents of Rajasthan, with brilliant colours and soft lighting.
The Reef Club serves the best Italian contemporary dishes, prepared by Chef Michele Greggio. The restaurant is situated on the southernmost point of the island and therefore offers breathtaking views.

Near the main swimming pool, the Huraa Barbecue is open each night and offers fresh fish of the day and a selection of meats, whereas near the reception the Sunset Bar is the ideal meeting point to start the evening, as it offers a large selection of cocktails to be enjoyed against the background of unrivalled Maldivian sunsets. The background music creates a relaxing mood and entertainment is provided by the billiard table and the games tables.

The Poolside Bar serves a large selection of cocktails and juices and snacks which can be enjoined on the terrace or in the water. The Terrace prides itself of hospitality and impeccable service: the gazebos around the swimming pool, which during the day offer pleasurable shelter from the sun, at night become romantic places for candlelit dinner.

DIVING CENTRE The Maldives are well-known for being among the most beautiful diving destinations in the world. A great number of diving sites are only a few minutes away from the Resort. The Diving Centre with PADI licence comprises a team of multi-lingual experienced instructors who run courses to start and improve diving and issues PADI international certificates.
The centre offers the best Nitrox and Air equipment.

THE ISLAND SPA Comprising seven pavilions overlooking the sea, the spa is situated on a private island which can be reached from Kuda Huraa with a short trip on board a dhoni. The spa offers treatments typical of the region, including Yoga, to relax and strengthen mind, body and spirit. As well as sunbathing, snorkelling, diving and relaxing, there are many other activities offered by Kuda Huraa: gym, bookshop, Surfing school, Water sports centre which offers a range of activities such as kayaking, snorkelling, windsurf and water sky, as well as parasailing and exhilarating banana-rides.
The resort also has a Leisure Centre and a Children’s Club, which offer a wide range of activities and organised excursions. Built in tune with the tropical environment, the large irregularly-shaped pool with ‘infinity edge’ stretches into the lagoon and has a bar in the middle.
