Customs and documents

Passports or identity cards valid for a minimum of three months, children must be featured on the parents passports and a photo should be applied if the child as turned ten years old. For those who use their identity card it is necessary to bring two passport sized photos as well.

Health rules

No vaccinations are necessary. It is a good idea to drink soft drinks and water from cans or bottles and don’t consume ice or raw food.

Language

Official: Egyptian Arabic. In the tourist resorts all major European languages are spoken.

Currency

Egyptian lira. Value 1LE = 0,20 €

An hour in advance compared to Italy

Telephoning home

When using the GSM cellular phones the network cover is poor.

Best period

Spring and autumn.

Clothing

Comfortable and practical with warmer clothes for the evening. Don’t forget sun glasses, hat, sun cream, rubber footwear for the seaside.
